Refer to the Student Handbook for details. Classroom Policy and Expectations Eating, drink, and chewing gum is not allowed. Always be on time. Grooming during class is not allowed Listen. No one else talks while Ms. Lewis is talking. Enter class with all needed materials. Show respect to Ms. Lewis, your peers, and yourself. General Information (Make-up
Work, etc.) Ø All assignments are to be turned in at the beginning of class on the due date. Ø Late assignment will be accepted the next day only with a loss of 25%. After that day, no assignments will be accepted. Ø It is the responsibility of the student to make up any missed assignments. The assignments are given in advanced, so there is no excuse for not turning in work on time. Ø Quizzes on previous material will be given daily. This is why it is imperative to be in class on time every day. |

Biology Domains
Journal Requirements Students will maintain a journal of short essays either in a 3-ring binder or a tablet or folder. The short essay will be a reflection of the concepts and/or skills learned. A daily journal prompt will be given. The journal will be checked for completeness and thoroughness several times throughout the semester and will be counted as a homework grade. Notebook Requirements Students are required to maintain a notebook with all journals and assignments. Students must also maintain a record of assignments and grades. The notebook should also have this signed syllabus. Homework Requirements Students will be required to meet specific deadlines to submit assignments. If the student does not work efficiently in class it will be necessary to complete assignments for homework. Students must refer to calendar and submit work on the due date at the beginning of class. Laboratory Requirements: In order to perform labs, students are required to submit a safety contract and a contact lens contract prior to working in lab. There will be no make-up for labs. |
